Donald Trump says Meghan Markle is ‘taking press coverage very personally’

Meghan Markle is taking the press coverage about her "very personally", US President Donald Trump has said.

The Duchess of Sussex revealed she had struggled with the constant media attention in ITV’s explosive documentary, Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, which aired earlier this month.

But Trump – who himself is never afraid to criticise the world’s press – appeared to take a sly dig at Prince Harry ’s wife during an LBC interview with close pal Nigel Farage.

“Well I’ve been watching her interviews and she is taking it very personally,” he said yesterday.

“I guess you have to take it a little bit differently.”

Trump went on to praise Harry, saying: “He’s great, we had something that was so incredible five months ago.

“I got to meet him and he is really a fine young man.

“I think the whole family is terrific.”

“And, also thank you for asking, because not many people have asked if I’m okay.

“But it’s a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes.”

When asked directly if she had been struggling, Meghan added: “Yes.”
