Brit ‘threatens to jump off villa balcony after being raped by men’ in Italy

A Brit holidaymaker threatened to jump off a balcony after allegedly being raped by three men in Italy, according to reports.

The woman, 32, was spotted by passers-by who called the police and brought her down to safety, it is claimed.

She is said to have been attacked after a night out in Lecce, a city in southern Italy.

Local media reports the tourist had been staying with a friend but they became separated during the evening.

She then met a group of other young people and spent time drinking with them, before ending up in an apartment where the alleged attack took place.

The woman is then said to have returned to her holiday home where she went into a “rage”, with her screams heard in nearby buildings.

She called police from the holiday home near Piazza Sant'Oronzo after the attack, MailOnline reports.

The woman appeared ready to jump off a building in the early hours and was spotted by pedestrians outside who called the police.

At least three police cars arrived on the scene and officers rescued her, according to local website LeccePrima.

She was taken to hospital and told police officers and medics about the alleged sex attack by three men.

Investigators are now looking for evidence.

They have reportedly gathered CCTV cameras around Piazza Sant'Oronzo.
