The Cowboys offered Elliott a deal that would establish him as one of the NFL’s top two highest-paid running backs, ESPN’s Ed Werder reported. While the contract’s exact terms were not immediately known, the offer was said to be larger than the deal star running back LeVeon Bell signed with the New York Jets this offseason.
Bell signed a four-year deal worth $52.5 million, with $27 million guaranteed. Todd Gurley, the NFL’s highest-paid running back, signed a four-year deal worth $57.5 million prior to the 2018 NFL season.
Elliott, 24, has yet to report to Cowboys training camp this summer due to dissatisfaction with his rookie contract. He is set to earn $3.85 million for the 2019 season and $9.1 million for the 2020 season.

“I feel like we’re very well prepared for this,” he told FOX Business’ Liz Claman on “The Claman Countdown.”
“If the tariffs do go into effect … either our suppliers are going to absorb the additional costs, so we’ll simply get lower prices or we’ll add a small surcharge to our prices.”
Earlier this month, President Trump threatened to impose a 10 percent tariff on $300 billion worth of Chinese goods, which are scheduled to go into effect on Sept. 1.
Schottenstein said he wasn’t concerned about the tariffs because his products were already priced lower than they should be.

“We’re already offering a product that, let’s say $29.95 or $39.95 depending on which line you’re purchasing, that really already should be priced $75 to $100 at the very least.”
Boston Celtics legend Bob Cousy receives Presidential Medal of Freedom from Donald Trump
President Donald Trump awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to former NBA legend Bob Cousy on Thursday afternoon.
“It’s very special for two other reasons,” the Hall of Famer said in his acceptance speech at the Oval Office. “It allows me to join one of the most exclusive clubs in our planet. And secondly, Mr. President, it is special because it is being presented by the most extraordinary president in my lifetime – and I’m a B.R., for before Roosevelt.”
Cousy, 91, played 14 seasons in the NBA, 13 of them with the Boston Celtics. He helped lead Boston to six NBA titles. The 13-time All-Star won the NBA’s Most Valuable Player award for the 1957 season and led the league in assists for eight consecutive seasons.
In 924 career games, Cousy averaged 18.4 points and 7.5 assists a game.
