Yolanda Adams is among the artists to be honored at the Recording Academy’s 2019 Grammys on the Hill Awards, to be held on April 9 at the Hamilton Live in Washington, D.C.

The four-time Grammy-winning gospel singer, who is currently the President of the Recording Academy’s Texas Chapter and a supporter of MusiCares, will be honored with the Recording Academy’s Creators Leadership Award for supporting her fellow artists and songwriters for several decades.

Others to be honored at the event include actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth for her philanthropic contributions to the music community, and Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Congressman Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) for their contributions to advance music creators’ rights and support for legislation that protects the future of music.

During the event sponsored by SESAC, there will be live performances from the musical honorees and some special guests.

On April 10, the Recording Academy is scheduled to host the annual Grammys on the Hill Advocacy Day that will see recording artists, industry leaders and lawmakers discuss the big issues facing the music community.
