New Book Details Donald Trump’s Foul-Mouthed Freak-Out Over Kevin McCarthy’s Criticism

Washington Post Says Gov. Ron DeSantis Just Sank To A ‘Jaw-Dropping’ New Low

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) has plunged to new depths, says a Washington Post editorial published Tuesday.

The newspaper’s editorial board said DeSantis, a Donald Trump loyalist had sunk to “a jaw-dropping level of cynicism” by aligning himself with misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines, campaigning against mask mandates and announcing fines for local governments that mandate vaccines for staff.

DeSantis is trying to cast himself “as a defender of personal freedom,” the editorial said. But he’s actually just adding “ to the vaccine hesitancy that has become a major roadblock to greater immunity and ending the pandemic,” it added.

“Mr. DeSantis harbors national political ambitions. But what he’s displaying here is crass opportunism and disregard for the greater good,” the editorial concluded.

“As he stokes the ignorance and misguided impulses of some in the Republican base, he is acting against the very tools needed to save lives and stop the pandemic.”

Twitter Users Taunt ‘Biggest Loser’ Larry Elder After He Was Trounced In California Recall

In the end, the California recall effort to oust Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) didn’t come close and people on social media took every chance to let Larry Elder know it.

Elder became the face of the Republican side of the recall election with his vow to repeal mask, COVID-19 vaccine and testing requirements in schools and workplaces.

But voters weren’t interested.

As of midnight in California, with 70 percent of the vote counted, nearly two out of three voted to keep Newsom in office. Elder was selected as a replacement on 2.2 million of the nearly 9 million ballots counted.

Elder’s critics on Twitter were only too happy to share the news:

California Recall Election Worker Sent Home For Wearing Trump MAGA Merch On The Job

A California recall election worker was “released” from his role for wearing pro-Donald Trump clothing on the job, said election officials.

The man, who has not been identified, wore a Trump-themed hat, T-shirt and face mask while working at a West Hollywood polling place on Tuesday, per multiple media reports.

After a photo of the man began circulating on social media, the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder’s Office said he was “contacted and advised that the attire was inappropriate and unacceptable.”

“Based on his response and reports that other workers had previously counseled him on this, he was released and is no longer working at the vote center,” the office added on Twitter.

The man was first “counseled and told not to wear anything political” on Monday, Registrar-Recorder’s office spokesperson Mike Sanchez told KTLA.

“But he still came wearing it,” Sanchez added. “Because of his response and not complying with the rules, he was released.”

Anti-electioneering rules in California ban “the visible display or audible dissemination of information that advocates for or against any candidate or measure on the ballot” within 100 feet of polling places.

However, Trump was not a candidate in the election in which California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) prevailed.

Sage Therapeutics Gets Fast Track Designation For SAGE-718 From FDA – Quick Facts

Biopharmaceutical company Sage Therapeutics, Inc. (SAGE) announced Wednesday that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted Fast Track Designation to SAGE-718 for development as a potential treatment for Huntington’s disease (HD).

Fast Track is a process designed to facilitate the development and review of new treatments for serious conditions with unmet medical need such as HD. It provides opportunities to engage collaboratively with the FDA to further clinical development and future regulatory review.

HD is an autosomal dominant genetic disorder that impacts the brain and by nature numerous generations of a family. Cognitive decline is often one of the earliest signs of the disease.

In studies to date, treatment with SAGE-718 has been associated with improved cognitive performance, particularly in the domain of executive functioning.

SAGE-718, Sage’s first-in-class NMDA receptor PAM and lead neuropsychiatric drug candidate, is in development as a potential oral therapy for cognitive disorders associated with NMDA receptor dysfunction, potentially including HD, Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease.

Sage expects to initiate a placebo-controlled Phase 2 trial with SAGE-718 in early to moderate HD in late 2021.

New Book Details Donald Trump’s Foul-Mouthed Freak-Out Over Kevin McCarthy’s Criticism

Donald Trump ranted about getting “f**ked” by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) because McCarthy initially blamed the former president for inciting the deadly U.S. Capitol riot, a new book claims.

Washington Post journalists Bob Woodward and Robert Costa report in their upcoming Trump White House tell-all “Peril” how he flipped out about McCarthy saying he bore responsibility for the violence.

“This guy called me every single day, pretended to be my best friend, and then, he fucked me,” Trump reportedly told Woodward and Costa for their book, excerpts from which CNN published on Tuesday.

“He’s not a good guy,” Trump added.

McCarthy has since reasserted himself as a staunch Trump apologist.

The book, scheduled for release on Sept. 21, also details Trump’s reported threat to withhold friendship from then-Vice President Mike Pence over his refusal to disrupt the election certification process and the steps that Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley allegedly took to stop Trump from going “rogue” with nuclear weapons.
