Antisemitic and racist graffiti has been found on a bank and a takeaway in southeast London the day before Holocaust Memorial Day.

Vandals painted a swastika and a Celtic cross, which symbolises white supremacy, on the Real Caribbean takeaway in Greenwich.

Half a mile away in Charlton, the word “Jews”, along with another Celtic cross and Stars of David, appeared on a Barclays bank.

Hong Kong to ban entry of people from virus outbreak province

SHANGHAI (Reuters) – Hong Kong’s government said on Sunday it will ban residents of China’s Hubei province, where the new coronavirus outbreak was first reported, or people who have visited Hubei in the past 14 days from entering the city from Monday.

The rule does not apply to Hong Kong residents, it added in a statement, without giving an end date to the ban.

In addition, QM11 Limited, a shareholder of the Company, is offering 500,000 ADSs of the Company at the same price. Zai Lab will not receive any proceeds from the sale of ADSs by QM11 Limited.

The offering is expected to close on January 27, 2020, subject to customary closing conditions.

ZLAB has traded in a range of $23.42 to $55.53 in the last 1 year.

Nova Scotia’s Atlantic coast under rainfall warning

Environment Canada has placed Nova Scotia’s Atlantic Coast under a rainfall warning.

The federal weather service says heavy rain is expected throughout the afternoon.

Between 25 mm and 35 mm of rain is expected.

Environment Canada says localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible due to frozen ground which reduces the ability to absorb the rain.

Alibaba's Taobao takes down overpriced face masks on its marketplace

(Reuters) – Alibaba’s Taobao marketplace said on Sunday that it has removed sales of face masks from shops that show “unstable prices or false advertising”, as prices for the products surged as Chinese consumers race to protect themselves from the coronavirus outbreak.

The newly identified coronavirus has created alarm because much about it is still unknown, such as how dangerous it is and how easily it spreads between people. It can cause pneumonia, which has been deadly in some cases.

China's cabinet to extend Lunar New Year holidays: state broadcaster

BEIJING (Reuters) – China’s cabinet announced it will extend the Lunar New Year holidays to Feb. 2, to strengthen the prevention and control of the new coronavirus, state broadcaster CCTV reported early on Monday.

The holidays had been due to end on Jan. 30.

Schools that are currently in recess will also extend their holidays, but the specific dates will be announced by the Ministry of Education, CCTV said.

NBA Great Kobe Bryant Dies In Calabasas Helicopter Crash, 5 Confirmed Dead

Kobe Bryant, the Los Angeles Laker who became one of the NBA’s all-time greats and went on to become an Oscar-winning producer, died this morning in a helicoper crash in Calabasas, Calif.

Bryant was traveling with at least three others, and authorities said 5 people are confirmed dead. Bryant’s wife, Vanessa, was not among the passengers.

The helicopter crash resulted in a fire that triggered emergency personnel to the scene. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said the crash occurred around 10 AM in Calabasas, a city located 30 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles.

The Federal Aviation Administration identified the helicopter as a Sikorsky S-76, which Bryant owned. It crashed under “unknown circumstances.” The FAA said it was informed by local authorities that were were five people on board at the time.

Bryant is survived by his wife Vanessa, and four daughters — Gianna, Natalia and Bianca and their newborn Capri.

The shocking death of NBA all-time great Kobe Bryant in a helicopter crash this morning is lighting up social media. Bryant was a polarizing figure in his life, but even his opponents felt compelled to honor his talents and the drive that made him an icon.

Crowds are already gathering at Staples Center, the home court of the Los Angeles Lakers, the team Bryant played 20 years for before retiring. The arena is hosting the Grammy Awards tonight, which means the scene could become chaotic as those arrivals begin.

Kobe Bryant, one of the all-time NBA greats — a legend even before he finally hung it up in 2016 — was reportedly killed in a helicopter crash on Sunday.

He was 41 years old.

TMZ reported that Bryant was one of at least four passengers in the private helicopter flying over Calabasas, Calif., when a fire broke out and caused the chopper to fall from the sky, killing everyone on board.

Bryant’s wife, Vanessa, was reportedly not among the victims, but apparently his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, died in the crash. Here’s a recent video of Bryant and Gianna together at a basketball game:
