Biden Seeing Doctor After Injuring Ankle Playing with Dog

President-elect Joe Biden was examined by a doctor Sunday for an ankle injury suffered on Saturday while playing with one of his dogs.

The incident occurred while Biden was spending Thanksgiving weekend with family in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, where they have a vacation home.

Biden’s transition team issued a statement saying he would see an orthopedist “out of an abundance of caution.”

Biden, 78, is set to be become the 46th president on Jan. 20. The Bidens have two dogs, Champ and Major, and told CBS News that they also plan to bring a cat to the White House.

Biden To Name Tanden as Budget Chief, Rouse to Economic Council

President-elect Joe Biden is turning to longtime Democratic policy staffer Neera Tanden to lead his Office of Management and Budget and Cecilia Rouse to head the Council of Economic Advisers, said people familiar with the process.

Biden will also nominate Adewale Adeyemo to be deputy treasury secretary as part of a slate of economic-team appointments he plans to make this week, the people said.

The Biden transition team declined to comment.

The choices show Biden turning to experienced Washington hands as he begins building his economic team. He’s selected Janet Yellen, the former Federal Reserve chairman, as his nominee for treasury secretary, Bloomberg News reported last week.

Tanden, who currently leads the the Center for American Progress, a liberal think-tank, worked on the Obama administration’s health-care reform and was a close adviser to Hillary Clinton.

Rouse also worked in the Obama administration as a member of the CEA and is currently dean of Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs.

Public Relations Firm MWW Group Sues Former Top Executive For $10 Million, Alleges Fraud That Includes Megan Fox, Mindy Kaling

Megan Fox and Mindy Kaling are among the alleged victims in a scheme that also cost Manhattan public relations firm MWW Group some $2.5 million, according to court papers.

Andrew Garson, who was named to the 2018 “Top 40 under 40” list by PR Week Magazine, is the defendant in a $10 million lawsuit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court.

Garson was indicated on wire fraud charges last year for allegedly duping his MWW Group employer into paying vendors from his previous job at Catalyst. But now, the company alleges, his machinations went even deeper.

MWW Group charges that Garson created budgets for “fictitious” marketing campaigns, and incurred debt to talent like Fox and Kaling on projects or budgets MWW hadn’t approved. That led to lawsuits and payment demands to a baffled MWW, including one request for $450,000 from Fox, according to court papers.

Garson also misappropriated monies working on projects for various advertising clients, including $58,000 from Jack in the Box, $125,000 with Red Lobster and $270,000 from Cox Automotive, MWW charges.

Criminal charges against Garson are pending.

Garson joined MWW in January 2018 as EVP and co-lead of the firm’s sports and entertainment practice from Catalyst. The department was later acquired and rebranded WME-IMG, according to PR Week.

Joe Biden Twists Ankle While Playing With Dog, Will Be Examined By Orthopedist

President-elect Joe Biden twisted his ankle on Saturday and will be examined by an orthopedist on Sunday, Biden’s transition team announced.

Biden suffered the injury while playing with his dog Major, his office said Sunday.

“Out of an abundance of caution, he will be examined this afternoon by an orthopedist,” Biden’s office said in a statement.

Biden arrived at Delaware Orthopaedic Specialists in Newark, Delaware, around 4 p.m. ET, according to a pool reporter traveling with Biden’s transition team.

“The van was maneuvered so that reporters and photographers could not see the president elect as he left the motorcade and entered the building,” the reporter wrote in the pool report.

At age 78, Biden will be the oldest president to ever enter office when he is sworn in on Jan. 20. President Donald Trump, 74, has repeatedly attempted to portray Biden as senile and fragile because of his age.

Biden has waved off such attacks, arguing that he’s more physically fit than Trump.

“When it comes to Donald Trump versus me: Just look at us,” Biden told CNN in September. “Who seems to be in shape? Who’s able to move around?”

Biden’s physician called the former vice president “healthy” and “vigorous” in a three-page medical summary of Biden’s health released last year.
