Cement truck topples over near NYC public housing complex

A cement truck tipped over on the Lower East Side while trying to back into a construction site at a public housing complex, cops said.

The truck rolled on its side at about 12:40 p.m. at the Baruch Houses on FDR Drive near E. Houston Street, according to cops.

The driver backed the truck into a hole, causing the ride to roll, cops said.

The driver suffered bumps and bruises and was taken to Bellevue for treatment, according to police.

Woman jumps in front of Brooklyn subway in apparent suicide: cops

A woman leapt to her death in front of a Brooklyn subway train Wednesday morning in what appeared to be a suicide, police and fire officials said.

The unidentified straphanger was at the Bay Parkway station near 86th Street in Bensonhurst at about 8:45 a.m. when she jumped in front of a northbound D train, police said.

The woman, whose age was not immediately known, was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

Rush-hour service was briefly tied up after the incident while Manhattan-bound trains were rerouted past the station, the MTA said.

Regular service resumed about an hour later.
