Insiders: It was a miracle that Kiss ever became a successful band

The legendary Kiss frontman and entrepreneur, and his wife Shannon Tweed, recently dropped $8.2 million on an 11,000-square-foot spread in the desert of Henderson, Nev., just outside Las Vegas, according to reports.

“We are moving out of LA for a number of reasons,” Simmons, 71, told The Post back in March, citing among other gripes, onerous taxes that make California “inhabitable.”

“I’m done [with California],” he said. “There are earthquakes, fires and pandemics every year. Even though there is nice sunshine, I’m done.”

Simmons had lived for many years on a two-acre estate in Beverly Hills. That home is on the market for $20 million. He currently lives in a 12,000-square-foot mansion in Lake Tahoe.

His new Vegas pad reportedly boasts six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a koi pond and sprawling views of the desert valley.

Person Shot On Set Of Boosie Badazz Music Video — Report

An unidentified man is reportedly in critical condition, after being shot on the set of a Boosie Badazz music video in Hunstville, Alabama.

According to TMZ, the rapper (born Torrence Ivy Hatch) was not harmed in the shooting, which took place around 4:30 p.m. At this time, the Huntsville Police reportedly have no suspects in custody. As of yet, they also have not shared a motive for the shooting.

When the police pulled up to the scene, they found somewhere between 50 and 100 people fleeing for their lives. A man in his 20s was on the ground, after suffering a gunshot wound, and he was subsequently transported to a local hospital by EMTs.

While Badazz managed to stay out of the line of fire today, this wasn’t his first encounter with a public shooting. In November of 2020, the rapper was shot in the leg in Dallas, Texas, after attending a candle lightvigil for rapper MO3.

Chinese cargo spacecraft docks with orbital station

BEIJING — An automated spacecraft docked with China’s new space station Sunday carrying fuel and supplies for its future crew, the Chinese space agency announced.

Tianzhou-2 spacecraft reached the Tianhe station eight hours after blasting off from Hainan, an island in the South China Sea, China Manned Space said. It carried space suits, living supplies and equipment and fuel for the station.

Tianhe, or Heavenly Harmony, is third and largest orbital station launched by China’s increasingly ambition space program.

The station’s core module was launched April 29. The space agency plans a total of 11 launches through the end of next year to deliver two more modules for the 70-ton station, supplies and a three-member crew.

China was criticized for allowing part of the rocket that launched the Tianhe to fall back to Earth uncontrolled. There was no indication about what would happen to the rocket from Saturday’s launch.

Beijing doesn’t participate in the International Space Station, largely due to U.S. objections. Washington is wary of the Chinese program’s secrecy and its military connections.

Bishop McNamara high school shows baseball can beat its diversity problem

FORESTVILLE, Md. — When Anthony Sosnoskie confronted his quest to reshape the Bishop McNamara High School baseball program, some people told him he had to start recruiting the right kids.

“But what did they mean?” Sosnoskie told USA TODAY Sports while his team warmed up inside the school’s gymnasium. “They meant a white kid.”

The student body of Bishop McNamara, a Catholic grades 9-12 coed school, is around 90% Black among the 850 students. That percentage is even higher on Sosnoskie’s 2021 roster. None of his 20 players are white – 18 are Black or mixed, and two are of Asian descent – in a sport that remains predominately Caucasian at all levels and in an area where other youth sports are the more popular choices.

Bishop McNamara is a hopeful sign that the lack of diversity in all levels of baseball can one day improve.
