DCC Plc H1 Adj. Operating Profit Rises; Revenue Down 18.9% – Quick Facts

DCC Plc (DCC.L) reported profit before tax of 102.1 million pounds for the six months ended 30 September 2020 compared to 57.6 million pounds, previous year. Earnings per share was 79.70 pence compared to 38.26 pence. Adjusted operating profit was 176.1 million pounds, up 8.3% (8.6% ahead on a constant currency basis). Adjusted earnings per share increased to 117.74 pence from 109.99 pence.

First half revenue was 5.93 billion pounds, down 18.9% (18.8% decrease on a constant currency basis) from last year. Revenue excluding DCC LPG and DCC Retail & Oil increased by 10.0% (up 9.8% on a constant currency basis) to 2.3 billion pounds. Organically, revenue excluding DCC LPG and DCC Retail & Oil increased by 5.8%.

The Board has decided to pay an interim dividend of 51.95 pence per share, a 5.0% increase on the prior year interim dividend. The dividend will be paid on 9 December 2020 to shareholders on the register at the close of business on 20 November 2020.

Rockwell Automation Inc. Q4 adjusted earnings Beat Estimates

Rockwell Automation Inc. (ROK) released earnings for its fourth quarter that climbed from the same period last year.

The company’s profit totaled $262.7 million, or $2.25 per share. This compares with $8.1 million, or $0.07 per share, in last year’s fourth quarter.

Excluding items, Rockwell Automation Inc. reported adjusted earnings of $219.1 million or $1.87 per share for the period.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.76 per share, according to figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts’ estimates typically exclude special items.

The company’s revenue for the quarter fell 9.2% to $1.57 billion from $1.73 billion last year.

Amdocs Q4 Profit Rises

Amdocs Ltd. (DOX) Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $134.5 million or $1.01 per share, up from $122.0 million or $0.90 per share last year.

Adjusted earnings for the quarter were $1.23 per share, up from $1.08 per share last year.

Fourth-quarter net revenues were $1.05 billion, up from $1.03 billion last year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $1.18 per share and revenues of $1.03 billion.

Looking forward to the first-quarter, Amdocs expects revenues of about $1.055 billion to 1.095 billion and adjusted earnings of $1.09 to $1.15 per share. Analysts currently estimate earnings of $1.14 per share and revenues of $1.06 billion.

For the fiscal year 2021, the company expects revenues growth of 4.0% to 8.0% year-over-year and adjusted earnings growth of roughly 5.0%-9.0% year-over-year.

Gold Futures Settle Notably Higher After Recent Steep Fall

Gold futures ended notably higher on Tuesday as prices rebounded after recording their biggest single session decline in seven years a day earlier.

The dollar index, which dropped to 92.60 in the Asian session, rose to 92.97 fairly swiftly, but retreated again as the session progressed. It was last seen hovering around 92.70, down slightly from previous close.

Gold futures for December ended higher by $22.00 at $1,876.40 an ounce, after hitting a high of $1,888.90.

Silver futures for December ended up $0.761 at $24.462 an ounce, while Copper futures for December settled at $3.1555 per pound, down $0.005 from previous close.

Gold prices had plummeted on Monday after U.S. drug maker Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech announced positive early results from their coronavirus vaccine trial.

The results were based on the first interim efficacy analysis conducted on November 8, 2020 by an external, independent Data Monitoring Committee from the phase 3 clinical study. The Committee has not reported any serious safety concerns.

Stock Alert: Xperi Holding Adds 20% On Improved Outlook

Shares of Xperi Holding Corporation (XPER) are rising more than 20% Tuesday morning after the company raised its second-half revenue outlook.

Xperi currently expects second half adjusted revenue to be in the range of $625 million to $645 million, up form $390 million to $410 million provided earlier.

The company’s third-quarter net loss narrowed to $29.75 million or $0.28 per share from net loss of $15.61 million or $0.32 per share in the same quarter a year ago.

Adjusted earnings in the third quarter of $0.19 per share missed the average estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Reuters at $0.20 per share.

Revenue for the quarter increased to $202.8 million from $57.87 million in the same quarter a year ago, on a jump in licensing, services and software revenue. The consensus estimate was for $202.8 million.

XPER is currently trading at $16.82. It has been trading in the range of $9.01- $21.42 in the ast 52 weeks.

Ever since it's been projected that Joe Biden will be the 46th president, there has been fueling speculation as to who will land positions in his administration. 

Ocasio-Cortez, one of the most iconic progressives on Capitol Hill, appears to have attempted to pull Biden's cabinet to the left by asking her over 10 million followers. 

"Fantasy sports: presidential admin edition. Who’s in your dream cabinet?" the congresswoman tweeted.

Some names that were floated in the replies include Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., as Treasury Secretary, Sen. However, many people also specifically requested that Biden not have John Kasich as part of his cabinet.
