Toddler, 2, found alive in house where bodies of man and woman were discovered

A toddler was found safe inside a property where the bodies of two adults were found last night.

Police said a man, 32, and a woman, 23, were found unresponsive inside the property at around 11.05pm on Wednesday, in Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire.

Emergency services were called over reports of an ‘incident’ at a house on Henhurst Hill, where the adults were pronounced dead.

A two-year-old child was found unharmed in the house and was today being cared for by relatives.

Police said the deaths are being treated as unexplained and post mortems will take place in due course. Formal identification has not yet taken place.

‘The bodies of a 32-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman were discovered at the address.

‘A 2-year-old child was found unharmed at the property’.

West Midlands Ambulance Service attended the scene and said the child and a second man were discharged after assessment.

The area remains cordoned off while forensics continue their enquiries.
