Tattoo addict mum’s ‘scary’ face sees her mistaken for ‘bank robber’

A mother who is “addicted” to tattoos claimed how she has been often mistaken for a bank robber. Melissa Sloan, 46, explained how she is regularly being judged on the DIY inkings, most of which feature across her face.

She is even barred from entering pubs, tattoo parlours and even her children’s school.

The Welsh-based ink enthusiast said her Playboy face etchings scare people into thinking she’s a criminal.

She told Daily Star: “When I walk into the bank they look at me like I’m going to rob the bank.

“They are all scared. It feels like they think you’re going to rob them.

“I’m walking in and everyone just stays still and they’re all frightened. As if I’d want to rob a bank anyway – I’d get noticed straight away.”

She is now planning to get her name changed to Missy- a nickname given to her by her late mother.

In order to do this, she must visit a bank where she fears garnering negative reactions about her appearance.

She added: “If I change my name to Missy I’m going to have to go to the bank, it’s going to be a hassle.”

The Welsh resident explained how she is still trolled on Facebook and TikTok for sharing her tattoos.

But this doesn’t stop her from following her passion as she continues to get her face etched by her partner Luke.

She has three layers of tattoos on her face and is now all set to get them on the rest of her body.

The mother-of-two plans to have her full body covered with the tattoos and is now starting to cover the blank spaces on her chest and beneath her chin.

She added: “I’m going to start up here on my chest and I’m going to keep going now because obviously I’m running out there [on my face].

“I’ll be starting on my chest and going around my body parts and I’ll keep going all the way.

“I’m never going to stop – I can’t stop. [My partner] says ‘why do you bother going through all of this pain?’ and I said I just have to do it.

“It’s hard to explain, and when that pain goes for a split second I want another one. I could have one every day but I don’t think it will do me any good.”
