Pippa is widely known across the world as Kate Middleton’s sister and stunned the globe when she appeared at her sibling’s wedding in 2011 as her Maid of Honour. Since then, Pippa has gone on to forge her own career in literature as well as campaigning for charitable causes. But while launching one of her own books in the US, Pippa was left giggling after a young girl made a shocking quip towards the author.

ABC News’ Geoffrey Kauffman reported on the incident in 2012 and said: “‘It’s not easy being green’, complained Kermit the Frog. Well try being the sister of a future princess.

“It’s not easy living under a media microscope but Pippa Middleton has to make a living so she is capitalising on the family party business and yesterday she launched her first book ‘Celebrate – A Year of British Festivities for Family and Friends’.

“Now, Pippa isn’t giving interviews on the book but she did sit down to make Halloween decorations with a group of children, proving yet again that children will say the darndest things.”

The interview continues and shows Pippa asking a youngster how old they are, to which another girl said: “I hate princesses!”

Smiling, Pippa replied: “I don’t know about that one!”

The incident came before her own wedding after she became engaged to James Matthews in 2016.

The pair married 12 months later at St Mark’s Church, at Berkshire’s Englefield Estate – near the Middleton family home.

At the ceremony, her niece and nephew – Princess Charlotte and Prince George – were among the bride’s attendants on the day.

However, it was in 2011 at her sister’s wedding that Pippa became a household name across the globe.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding was witnessed by millions of people across the globe and Pippa became one of its star attractions due to her beautiful dress.

She was also in charge of all the flower girls and page boys, making her appearance at the ceremony even more adorable.

In April, the Cambridges celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary.

Since their union, the couple have gone on to have three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Throughout the Commonwealth, street parties and events were held to coincide with the union, including more than 5,000 street parties in the UK.

It is predicted that on the day of their wedding – April 29, 2011 – more than one million people lined the route between Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace.

TV audiences in the UK peaked at 26.3m watching the wedding, with around 37m watching some form of the coverage.

After the event, Pippa reportedly claimed her infamous dress “fit a little too well” sparking fiery debates over whether she had upstaged her sister.
