Speculation has gone into overload in recent weeks with predictions of when exactly the youngster will be born. Bookies Ladbrokes has some royal fans convinced the baby will come into the world this weekend. The firm has dropped odds tot 3/1 that the Duchess will give birth at some point between Friday and Monday, over Easter.

Jessica Bridge, a spokesperson for the company, said: “Royal fans would love a double celebration over the Easter weekend with Her Majesty’s birthday on Sunday, and potentially Baby Sussex arriving as well.

“Punters are still convinced the Duke and Duchess will be welcoming a little girl into the world.”

If the baby is born on Sunday, the child would share their birthday with the Queen.

Her Majesty will turn 93-years-old.

On Monday, the couple thanked fans for donating to their favourite charitable causes.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex wrote online: “Just one week ago, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex asked that you kindly consider supporting various organisations around the world in lieu of sending gifts for the upcoming arrival of their first born. Not only did many of you lend your support, you took action.

“Their royal highnesses wanted you to know the impact of your support – the direct effect your donation, energy, and action made! YOU chose to be part of the collective good, and you have a made a real difference.

“Whether a $5 donation, £1000 contribution, offering to volunteer, or spreading the word – you’ve played your part.

“And on behalf of The Duke and Duchess (and Baby Sussex), we thank you so much.”

The Instagram post has received more than 100,000 likes in less than an hour.

Instagram may be the first way fans find out the name and gender of the baby, which could be why they recently set up their own account.

Richard Fitzwilliams said to the Sun Online: “There will be a huge demand for photos and it may well be no coincidence that they have just opened an Instagram account. The birth of Baby Sussex will be a global event.”
