Royal baby born: Has Meghan Markle had the baby – has royal baby been born?

Meghan Markle is due to give birth any day now, and reports from Buckingham Palace have stated the Duchess of Sussex is now in labour with her first child. Plans around the birth have been kept relatively quiet by the palace since Meghan’s pregnancy was announced in October last year. Royal fans have been eagerly anticipating the baby’s birth – and have been kept guessing the gender and name baby Sussex could have. 

Has Meghan Markle had the baby – has royal baby been born?

According to Buckingham Palace, Meghan has indeed gone into labour with her first child. 

There is no news as to when the baby will come or how far into labour the Duchess is. 

A statement from Buckingham Palace read: “The Duchess went into labour in the early hours of this morning.

“The Duke of Sussex was by Her Royal Highnesses’ side. An announcement will be made soon.”

Royal commentator Alistair Bruce told Sky News it is “really exciting for the Queen” and for the nation.

The birth has come just a couple of weeks before the royal couple will celebrate their first wedding anniversary. 

Royal correspondent Rebecca English was unable to contain her excitement as she posted on Twitter: “Confirmed that the Duchess of Sussex went into labour in the early hours of the morning.

“We are expecting an announcement any moment now!”
