REVEALED: The link between baby Archie and Jesus

The tradition is nod to the Royal Family’s faith and the river is where Jesus was baptised by John the Baptist. Water from the river in the Middle East will be flown into the UK for Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor when he is baptised in front of his parents, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, and close relatives and friends in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle.

Specially sterilised water was flown in for Archie’s cousin Prince Louis’ 2018 baptism, and some was likely used for Meghan Markle’s baptism too.

The same water was also used to baptise Louis’ brother and sister, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

All royal babies are christened in the Lily Font bowl, an exquisite silver-gilt font used by the Royal Family since 1840.

The gilded silver font, which weighs 21 pounds, was commissioned by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert ahead of the birth of their first child.

Part of the Royal Collection, the font has been used for all subsequent royal christenings except for Princess Eugenie, who had a public baptism.

When not being used for royal baptisms, the silver-gilt Lily Font is kept with other royal treasures in the Tower of London.

Archie Harrison will be baptised by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Archie’s parents have sparked outrage among royal fans after they revealed their decision to keep details of their firstborn son’s christening private.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have even decided not to reveal the identities of their son’s godparents.

A statement from Buckingham Palace read: “Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor will be christened in a small private ceremony by the Archbishop of Canterbury in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle on Saturday July 6.

“The godparents, in keeping with their wishes, will remain private.

The decision was attacked by Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan who ordered the couple to stop playing “dumb” games.

He tweeted: ‘The godparents will not be announced’. Why not?

“Harry & Meghan need to stop playing these dumb cake-and-eat-it games with the media/public.

“If you want your home costs paid by the taxpayer, you reveal this kind of info. That’s the deal.”
