The Queen took part in a video call with several carers to mark a week dedicated to their unpaid contribution to society. To celebrate Carers Week 2020, the monarch and her daughter Princess Anne joined on video link carers and experts to hear more about what they do on a day-to-day basis.

Speaking to members of the Carers’ Trust, the Queen said: “It was interesting listening to all your tales and stories and I am very impressed by what you have achieved already.

“I am very glad to have been able to join you today.”

The Carers’ Trust supports with help and advice the millions of people taking care of family members without any retribution.

To hear important evidence of what some of these carers do, the monarch embraced technology and carried out what is believed to have been her first engagement via video conference.
