Ms Bowie said she has missed the Queen’s “quippy asides” during the pandemic.

Ms Bowie said: “The Queen as she is a monarch and can do whatever she likes, called the coronavirus ‘this horrible new thing’.”

Ms Bowie continued: “We missed hearing these quippy asides from her.

“It was the ultimate burn on the coronavirus, that she doesn’t deem it necessary to call it by its real name.”
