Princess Beatrice wedding heartbreak: Bea’s wedding postponed AGAIN amid Megxit?

Princess Beatrice, 31, and fiancé Edoardo “Edo” Mapelli Mozzi, 37, will tie the knot this year, the couple announced in September last year. Unfortunately, royal fans can’t mark their calendars for the royal wedding just yet, as the couple is yet to announced a date.

On September 26, the engagement was announced via the Royal Family’s Twitter account.

Edo proposed to the 31-year-old Princess in Italy earlier that month.

In a statement, the happy couple said: “We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement.

“We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to be married.

“We share so many similar interests and values and we know this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness.”

However, in the middle of Princess Beatrice’s wedding planning her cousin Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle announced they were stepping down as senior royals.

Following the shock announcement, Queen Elizabeth II ordered Prince Charles and Prince William to meet with the Duke of Sussex to discuss the issue further.

As a result of the meeting, the Queen released a statement supporting the couple’s decision.

The Queen’s statement read: “I recognise the challenges they have experienced as a result of intense scrutiny over the last two years and support their wish for a more independent life.

“It is my whole family’s hope that today’s agreement allows them to start building a happy and peaceful new life.”

In addition to Harry and Meghan’s shock exit, Beatrice’s father Prince Andrew stepped back from royal duties late last year because questions on his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein had become a “major disruption”.

Reports have now suggested the bride-to-be has been forced to delay her wedding date yet again.

Daily Mail Online understands Beatrice and Edo first had to wait for a date to be agreed by the Queen, then for the “furore surrounding Prince Andrew to die down”.

The general election, Christmas and New Year then got in the way, and now “Beatrice has been upstaged by Harry and Meghan.”

Sources have suggested the royal nuptials is to be planned for “early summer” before Royal Ascot week.

However, no official date has yet been revealed.

When Buckingham Palace first announced the engagement, the statement said the couple will marry “in 2020”.

The Palace added: “Further details will be announced in due course.”

Beatrice’s parents Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson said of the engagement: “We are thrilled that Beatrice and Edoardo have got engaged, having watched their relationship develop with pride.

“We are the lucky parents of a wonderful daughter who has found her love and companion in a completely devoted friend and loyal young man.

“We send them every good wish for a wonderful family future.”

The engagement photos were taken by Beatrice’s sister Princess Eugenie, who married Jack Brooksbank in October 2018.
