Prince Harry and Meghan Markle surprised pupils and teachers at a pre-school in Los Angeles on Monday, which coincided with the 23rd anniversary of Princess Diana’s death. During the visit to the Preschool Learning Centre, the Duke was seen to pay a touching tribute to his late mother.
Meghan and Harry got stuck in throughout the visit, and were pictured helping the children replant their learning garden.
The couple, who both wore masks for the outing, helped dig and water plant beds at the school.
One photograph shows Meghan raising her hands, which are covered in soil, as a young boy helps water the plants.
Harry also gave a sweet nod to his late mother by planting forget-me-nots, Diana’s favourite flower.
The beautiful flower, which feature blue petals and a yellow middle, had long been a favourite of the Princess, which prompted Meghan to include them in her wedding bouquet.
The Duchess also featured them in her first Mother’s Day post in 2019.
As well as helping the youngsters with their revamped garden, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex also spent time discussing the importance of nature and healthy eating with the children.
The pair were casually dressed for the visit, with Meghan wearing a pair of dark denim jeans and a light denim style shirt, with her hair swept back in a low bun.
