Prince Charles fury: Meghan Markle sparks anger with timing of social media posts

Charles announced his ‘Sustainable Markets Initiative’ at Davos in Switzerland on Wednesday.

It is part of a radical push to tackle climate change.

Speaking in front of global industry leaders, Prince Charles called for more money to be allocated to responsible, sustainable business practices.

However, Meghan caused a Twitter and Instagram storm after a post appeared on the couples official @sussexroyal Instagram account showing the Duchess on a previous royal visit.

Meghan is pictured smiling as she pets a dog, revealing the visit was made while she was still in London.

The post appeared also as Kate Middleton launched a major survey on early childhood experiences.

The @sussexroyal Instagram post read: “Earlier this month, the Duchess of Sussex popped in to see the amazing people at Mayhew to hear about the incredible progress made throughout the festive period.”

Meghan is a patron of the animal welfare charity.

Richard Palmer the Daily Express royal correspondent tweeted: “Wow, what unfortunate timing that once again, just as a senior member of the Royal Family was heralding an important initiative, the Sussex Royal Instagram account kicked into life with some PR pictures at the very same moment.”

The Prince of Wales is said to be “hurt” by the Sussexes decision to quit the royal family after secretly funding their lavish lifestyle.

He had given the couple money, on top of the £2.3 million they already received per year from the Duchy of Cornwall.

He reportedly spent a “small fortune” on their wedding in 2018.

However, he looks set to continue funding the couple for the next before a review of the Megxit deal is carried out.

The loan will come from the Prince’s own personal investments and not the Duchy of Cornwall.

Speaking after the terms were reached, the Queen said she was pleased that “a constructive and supportive way forward” had been found.
