NHS unions have reportedly agreed to a pay deal with ministers that promises to end months of strikes organised by nurses and ambulance workers.

Government sources have told news organisations that officials will announce the new pay offer this afternoon, months after the RCN organised its first-ever strikes in response to the cost of living crisis.

The new deal is not set in stone, however, with hundreds of thousands of unionised workers still required to provide their assent first.
