Oliver Stephens: Teens guilty of murdering boy ‘lured’ to park and fatally stabbed

Two 14-year-old boys have been found guilty of murdering a teen who was “lured” to a park and fatally stabbed.

Oliver Stephens, 13, was pronounced dead at Bugs Bottom field in Emmer Green, Reading, on 3 January.

Oliver was convinced to go to the park by a 14-year-old girl, where he was “ambushed” by the two boys and stabbed to death, Reading Crown Court previously heard.

The three teenagers cannot be identified because of their age, but one of the boys and the girl had previously admitted manslaughter.

The court heard both of the male attackers had “grievances” with Oliver, who was known as Olly.

The girl is said to have described any violence against him as “karma” before his death.

After his death, Olly’s family described him as “an enigma” who “could get his own way with a wry smile and a cheeky grin”.

They added: “An Olly-sized hole has been left in our hearts.”
