Libby Squire’s mother will meet the man who raped and murdered her daughter after Pawel Relowicz agreed to see her. Lisa Squire is looking for answers from Relowicz, who is serving a life sentence for the murder of 21-year-old Libby in 2019. The grieving mother has three questions she hopes to ask during their upcoming meeting.

Speaking to The Sun, she said she wants answers about how her daughter died as she tries to “muddle through life without Libby”.

She listed three questions she plans to ask Relowicz about Libby’s final moments.

Ms Squire said: “The questions I have are simple — what happened to Libby? Was she scared? Did she ask for me?”

The mother’s questions are for herself and her daughter, whom she speaks about in the present tense more than three years after her death.

She added: “I want her to know, and I have a sense that she does know, that I did everything I could to find out what happened.

“There’s no question of forgiveness, but I can try and get something positive out of this horrendous situation.”

Ms Squire pledged to relentlessly question her daughter’s killer, with new questions replacing each answer.

The mum-of-four also shared some of the darker questions that cross her mind.

She said: “I wonder, ‘Did he torture her?’ I thought at the start, ‘Maybe she wasn’t dead when she went into the water’.

“But we know she was, because of the post-mortem. There were none of the signs of drowning.

“And before I saw her body I thought, ‘Did he stab her?’ I had to look to satisfy myself that he didn’t.”

Relowicz was convicted of raping and murdering Libby Squires in 2021 and handed a life sentence with the possibility of parole after 27 years.

Police discovered her body in the Humber Estuary in March 2019, seven weeks after she disappeared.

But her waterlogged remains made it impossible for coroners to identify a cause of death.

Relowicz is serving his sentence at HMP Wakefield, one of the UK’s most infamous prisons.

The concentration of sex offenders and murderers formerly and presently incarcerated in the high-security institution has earned it the name “Monster Mansion”.

He resides alongside contemporaries like serial killer John Cooper and convicted paedophile Ian Watkins, the former Lostprophets frontman.

The prison has housed some of the UK’s most violent prisoners in the past, including Charles Bronson.

Harold Shipman, long thought to have been one of the world’s most prolific serial killers, died at HMP Wakefield in 2004.

Convicted serial killer Colin Ireland also died on the site in 2012.
