In Tuesday’s episode, Meghan Markle was joined by Sex and The City author Candance Bushnell and trans actor and activist Michaela Jaé Rodriguez to discuss “expressing one’s identity and embracing the nuances that make each of us, quite simply, human”. At the start of the episode, before the guests joined her, Meghan reflected on a special lesson that she learned in her younger years.

In the 58-minute episode, Meghan said: “I was specifically thinking about something that I was told many years ago.

“You are not just a human being, you are a human, just being.

“Now, the woman who told me this was trying to remind me to just be easier on myself.”

She added: “Sort of in the same bane of saying ‘don’t let perfect be the enemy of good’.

“Well, this is just another version of that same ilk of advice.

“You’re human, just being.”

Meghan’s podcast was first released in August, and has tackled a series of issues modern women have been forced to face by virtue of their gender and ethnicity.

Every Tuesday, the day of a new release, Meghan is joined by a different guest, or guests, to “explore and subvert the labels that try to hold women back”.

She added that Archetypes has been a “huge success”, branding the Duchess a “girls’ girl”.
