Meghan Markle’s wedding dress unveiled in exciting new exhibition for royal fans

Royal fans are being offered a chance to get up close to the famous dress in a special exhibition, titled A Royal Wedding: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The display at the Palace of Holyrood House in Edinburgh will run until October 6, giving members of the public unprecedented access to the iconic wedding attire. The event also features behind-the-scenes footage of Meghan, 37, and Harry, 34, being interviewed as they prepare for their big day.

Meghan’s silk dress featured a boat neckline and fitted bodice which pulled in at the waist.

Her veil, on which designers painstakingly embroidered the national flowers of each of the 53 Commonwealth nations, will also appear in the Scottish exhibition.

The California poppy was also featured on the 16-foot long trail, a nod to the Golden State where Meghan was born and raised.

A life-size model wearing the outfit also dons Meghan’s spectacular tiara, which originally belonged to Queen Mary and was loaned to the duchess by the Queen.

The exhibition will also include a display of the outfits worn by Prince George, five, and Princess Charlotte, four, to their uncle’s Windsor wedding in May 2018.

The adorable page boy and bridesmaid outfits can be seen in a separate glass cabinet.

Kate and William’s children were part of the bridal party which also included Meghan’s best friend Jessica Mulroney’s twin sons, Brian and John, and their little sister Ivy.

Next to Meghan’s dress, designed by Givenchy’s Clare Waight Keller, is Harry’s Household Cavalry uniform.

The Queen’s grandson, who is sixth-in-line to the throne, joined the Blues and Royals in 2006 and served with the Household Cavalry Regiment.

In 2008, the prince, who undertook two tours in Afghanistan, was promoted to the rank of lieutenant.

Because Harry may need his uniform for official engagements over the coming months, a replication of the outfit made a few years ago by Dege & Skinner will be used in the exhibition.

Last weekend Meghan took part in her first outing with Harry since giving birth to baby Archie on May 6.

The Duchess stunned in a navy and white dress and matching hat for her appearance at Trooping the Colour.
