Reports this week indicate Prince Charles is still furious over claims Meghan Markle claimed in her interview with Oprah Winfrey in March. She alleged that concerns were raised in the Firm about Archie’s skin colour before he was born, and also said she was denied help amid her mental health struggles. Royal correspondent and podcast host Christina Garibaldi has said the Prince of Wales is still angry – despite reports of peace talks. The Us Weekly reporter claims insiders said Prince Harry did not jet back to his home in the US on good terms after Prince Philip’s funeral.

She said: “Prince Harry and Prince Charles did not resolve their differences when Harry returned to the UK.

“They barely communicated.

“Charles is still fuming about Harry throwing shade at him and the Royal Family in the big interview and won’t let it drop.”

The Sussexes’ royal crisis has split opinion here in the UK – but this isn’t the first time Meghan’s struggles have resulted in anguish in the Firm.

In July last year, it was revealed that Meghan said she felt “unprotected” by the Royal Family over claims made against her while she was pregnant.

The statement was made in documents submitted to court in the Duchess of Sussex’s case against the owner of MailOnline and the Mail on Sunday, Associated Newspapers Limited.

The row was discussed by Lorraine Kelly at the time, who said the claims must have been “very distressing” for the Queen.

Lorraine added that it was “very sad” that Harry and Meghan felt unable to stay in the UK.

She said on her morning show on ITV: “She felt like that and that’s really, really sad. The two of them could have done such good over here and being visible [during the pandemic].

“I think it would have been lovely to have them over here.”

The Daily Mirror’s Royal Editor Russell Myers was on the show, and he claimed that the Queen would be distressed by the claims.

He said: “I don’t think these are just uncomfortable headlines.

“They are absolutely disturbing reading for the royal family and they will be very distressed.

“The Queen mentions family, how they took Meghan into the heart of the family and how she had been so impressed by her.

“Certainly, these claims that she felt unprotected, especially when pregnant, will be very distressing indeed for the Queen, Charles, Kate and William.”

Reports this week suggest the Sussexes are trying to build bridges with Prince William and Kate after a turbulent last couple of years.

Harry and Meghan have “privately congratulated” William and Kate on their 10-year wedding anniversary, which was celebrated on April 29.

In celebration of their anniversary, the couple released a new video yesterday showing the family during a beach outing with their three children, Prince George, seven, Princess Charlotte, five, and Prince Louis, three.

In the caption shared along with the clip on their official social media accounts, the royal couple thanked all those who had offered their congratulations, which included a private message from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

William and Kate said: “Thank you to everyone for the kind messages on our wedding anniversary.

“We are enormously grateful for the 10 years of support we have received in our lives as a family. W & C.”
