Meghan Markle pregnant? Duchess of Sussex set to give Archie sibling after settling in LA

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have spoken about giving a sibling to their son Archie Harrison in the past. The Duke of Sussex admitted last year he and the Duchess are planning to have only two children due to concerns about overpopulation. But the arrival of a new royal baby is now expected to be postponed to allow Meghan and Harry to ensure their family is well-settled into their new life away from the Royal Family.

Speaking to Access, royal expert Charlie Lankston said: “We do know, sources have told us, Meghan and Harry are hoping to have a second child.

“However, the two of them are very conscious about not rushing into it.

“Baby Archie experienced a lot of upheaval in his first 10 months of life, he’s moved to many different places.

“His parents have gone through a major transition.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to Los Angeles shortly before they officially stepped down from their royal roles on March 31.

Within the past year, the couple moved at least three times, two of which with their young son Archie – first from the UK to Canada, and then from Canada to the United States.

Ms Lankston continued: “What we understand from sources close to Meghan and Harry is that the two of them want to get their lives in really good order, get themselves settled into their new home, into their new routine before they think about a second baby.

“But, yes, we do understand the two of them would love to give Archie a younger sibling, be it a baby boy or a baby girl, as long as it’s healthy.”

While Meghan and Harry are now expected to focus on their goal to become financially independent from the Royal Family, some commentators have suggested the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be announcing a new pregnancy within 12 months.

Speaking to Yahoo Royal earlier this year, expert Omid Scobie said: “Although they’re technically not working at the moment I don’t believe for a second that they’re not spending time planning this because a launch will be around the end of the first quarter, beginning of the second quarter, of next year.

“So that will very much really see 2020 for them.

“I don’t think we’ll see many new patronages or anything like that.

“I think it will really focus on what they have on the table now – possibly another baby, who knows.”

Bookmaker Coral earlier this week made it evens that Meghan and Harry will announce a new baby is due within the next year.

Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “We think that a second baby for Harry and Meghan is well and truly on the cards soon and make them just evens to announcing this year that they are expecting.

“This makes them more likely than William and Kate to announce a 2020 pregnancy, who are 2-1 in our book to do so in the next twelve months.”
