Meghan Markle and Harry: The adorable relationship milestone they will mark this Easter

Meghan Markle, 38, and Prince Harry, 37, have settled in Los Angeles with their son Archie Harrison and will spend a quiet Easter there as lockdown measures ensue. The couple were expected to launch their new charitable venture following their step-down as senior royals but are understood to have put things on hold amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Easter is a special time of year for Meghan and Harry.

Not only is it around the time of their son Archie Harrison’s birth, who arrived on May 6 last year, but it also marks a special milestone in their relationship.

Meghan and Harry’s relationship was first confirmed to the world in September 2017.

At that time Meghan was based in Toronto, Canada, where she worked as an actress on sitcom Suits, and Harry was still based in Britain.

The couple kept up a long-distance relationship with Harry often travelling to Toronto to stay with Meghan.

One such romantic trip took place over Easter 2017 when Harry flew over to spend the holiday with Meghan in Canada.

At the time Harry was spotted arriving at Toronto airport wearing a baseball cap and carrying a duffel bag.

The visit coincided with Meghan’s decision to close her lifestyle blog The Tig which she had regularly updated with health and travel tips while she was an actress.

This prompted a flurry of speculation Harry had popped the question and while the couple did not announce their engagement until the following November, marriage may have already been on their minds.

Meghan and Harry ceased to be senior royals on March 31 and are now free to pursue a “more peaceful life” outside the royal bubble.

The couple have entered a one-year trial period in which they will work to become financially independent.

During their time as royals, Meghan and Harry amassed a huge following on social media with 11.3 million Instagram followers.

In the wake of their royal step down the couple are expected to stop using their Sussex Royal account and shared a heartfelt farewell message with fans.

The post read: “As we can all feel, the world at this moment seems extraordinarily fragile.

“Yet we are confident that every human being has the potential and opportunity to make a difference—as seen now across the globe, in our families, our communities and those on the front line—together we can lift each other up to realise the fullness of that promise.

“What’s most important right now is the health and wellbeing of everyone across the globe and finding solutions for the many issues that have presented themselves as a result of this pandemic.

“As we all find the part we are to play in this global shift and changing of habits, we are focusing this new chapter to understand how we can best contribute.

“While you may not see us here, the work continues.

“Thank you to this community – for the support, the inspiration and the shared commitment to the good in the world. We look forward to reconnecting with you soon. You’ve been great!

“Until then, please take good care of yourselves, and of one another.”

What’s next for Meghan and Harry?

The couple have settled in Los Angeles for now and are said to be eyeing up property in Malibu.

They are understood to be spending a low-key Easter with Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland, 63, who also lives in LA.

Earlier this week Meghan and Harry confirmed the name of their next venture is Archewell.

However, they are not expected to make an official launch until the coronavirus pandemic has subsided.
