Meghan Markle and Harry Africa tour: What will Meghan, Harry and Archie do today?

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry and baby Archie Harrison have arrived in Africa for a 10-day tour. They landed in Cape Town, South Africa this morning and will attend their first engagement this afternoon. Here’s what the Sussexes will get up to today as they embark on their first official trip as a family.

What will Meghan and Prince Harry do on their first day in Cape Town?

While it is not confirmed how many of their royal engagements baby Archie will attend alongside his parents, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have a packed schedule.

They will spend the first couple of days together in South Africa before Prince Harry flies solo to Botswana, Angola and Malawi.

According to royal correspondent Katie Nicholl, the Sussexes landed in South Africa at around 8am (BST) this morning.

They are expected to attend their first royal engagement at around 1.30pm local time (12.30pm BST) this afternoon.

Their first official visit will be to a workshop which teaches children about their rights and provides self-defence classes.

The Duke and Duchess will then tour the District Six Museum, a memorial to the 60,000 residents forced from their homes in the area during apartheid in the 1970s.

Meghan and Harry will hear about the work being done to reunite families separated by the regime.

They will then join a community cooking activity with former District Six residents.

The cooking activity will be right up Megan’s street as the Duchess helped launch a cookbook with members Grenfell Tower community last year.

Following a busy first day, the Sussexes will catch some rest ahead of tomorrow.

On day two of the tour, Meghan and Harry will head to Monwabisi Beach, near Cape Town’s Khayelitsha township.

While it is not confirmed how much little Archie will join his parents on their visits, a royal commentator has claimed it is time Meghan and Harry introduced him properly to the public.

Editor in chief of Majesty Magazine, Ingrid Seward said:“From a public relations point of view the Duke and Duchess really do need to show the people Archie.

“He is the best ticket they have got for getting people to re-fall in love with them.”

She added: “People are very susceptible to images of children.

“I don’t see the point of hauling him all the way there only to keep him under wraps.”

Meghan Markle will remain is SA where she will carry out a whole host of her own engagements.

The family will finally reunite in Johannesburg for the final two days of the tour.
