According to a former close friend, the Duchess had always nurtured the ambition to live among glamorous film stars and celebrities. The insider told the Sun that moving back to LA would allow Meghan to live the life of an A-lister and that it had been easy to persuade a “star-struck” Harry to go along with her plans. She said: “I think she always wanted to be back here, she always dreamed of the full-blown Hollywood lifestyle and this kind of clout.

“And I don’t think it was even that hard to persuade Harry.

“He was smitten and star struck over the whole thing. I don’t think she had to twist his arm to move to Hollywood.’

‘Now she is back home, near her mom, her friends and her PR team.

“She doesn’t have to ask for permission from the royal family in how she chooses to live her life and she can acquire income in all sorts of fields.”

The couple will have to wait a while for their opportunity to mix and mingle with Hollywood’s finest, as they sit out the current coronavirus lockdown.

Many commentators have questioned whether Harry is cut out for the Hollywood celebrity lifestyle, but Meghan’s former friend has no such worries.

She said: “I think Harry will like the change of scenery and the kind of attention they will be getting.

“It will also be easier on him than it was on her first husband.

“When she was with Trevor (Engelson), she was very much up and coming and incredibly busy.

“She wanted every opportunity for a red carpet, a magazine shoot, a photograph at an event.

“He had to deal with sharing her with that side of the job.

“But now that they are so high profile, at least for now, she won’t be needing to do all that. Harry won’t have to deal with that.

“And with Archie being so young still, they will probably keep a tight family unit and try to be low key.

Meghan and Harry are reported to have put together an elite Hollywood team to help them cash in on their royal celebrity status.

According to the Mirror, a key member of that team is Nick Collins of The Gersh Agency.

Mr Collins acts as the agent for Tobey Maguire of Spider-Man fame, as well as Jamie Fox, and is now responsible for handling profitable film, TV and philanthropic offers for Meghan and Harry.

Other members of the crack team include Meghan’s former Beverly Hills business manager Andrew Meyer and Hollywood lawyer Rick Genow.

The Duke and Duchess have supposedly decamped to Los Angeles in order to be closer to their Hollywood team.

Royal commentator and author Kristen Meinzer has no doubt that Meghan and Harry have “great earning potential and believes they will follow in the footsteps of their friends Barack and Michelle Obama.

She told Business Insider: “We could easily compare them to any former presidents. My mind keeps going to Barack and Michelle Obama and how they make money.

“The reason I compare the two is that they’re already friends with each other and I would put them on the same level in terms of fame.”
