Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex could finally achieve her dream of becoming an international influencer by relaunching The Tig, according to expert Kinsey Schofield. The royal commentator argued the Duchess, 41, had hinted at her desire to follow in the footsteps of leading female entrepreneurs and that the blog could help her achieve her goal.

She told Express.co.uk Meghan could also use the blog to “rebrand” herself after the criticism she and Prince Harry faced following the release of their Netflix documentary and his memoir, Spare.

The To Di For Daily host said: “Meghan didn’t want to be a princess, she didn’t want to be a duchess.

“She didn’t really want to be an actress – she wanted to be an influencer.

“And you actually hear that word used in the Netflix documentary. If you study influencers online, there’s a common theme and that is making your life look better than it is.”

Meghan’s business manager filed documentation with the US Patent and Trademark Office to protect the trademark since she shut it down months before her engagement to Harry in 2017.

A spokesperson for the Duchess of Sussex said previously the documents had been filed to “prevent false branding, to avoid others purporting to be the Duchess or affiliated with her”.

The Mirror reported last week that further documentation has now been presented to the office hinting at an imminent return of The Tig online.

Schofield argued the blog would allow Meghan to pursue her ideals to impose herself as a leading influencer – and to reclaim the narrative.

She continued: “I do think she’s working on relaunching The Tig because that is the only thing that Meghan has had her fingertips on from start to finish, that she could control wholly, that was a success and that was a reflection of her capabilities.

“And it was an independent success for Meghan, I think she was really proud of that.

“It was a lot of work but she controlled everything and she felt that it was perfect.”

In her blog, the Duchess discussed her personal beauty and exercise routine, her love for food, wine and travelling.

Meghan warned rebranding venture could ‘easily ignite more tensions’ [EXCLUSIVE]

Meghan bid farewell to her “passion project” in April 2013, thanking her followers for accompanying her on “three beautiful years” of “adventure”.

However, a PR expert has warned the relaunch of The Tig could add to the ongoing tensions between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the Royal Family.

PR expert Jordan James said Meghan would face a considerable issue with keeping her work separate from her connection to the monarchy.

James said: “The biggest hurdle I see Meghan facing is trying to separate perceptions towards The Tig from the perceptions of her, Prince Harry, and the ensuing Royal Family drama which dominate the headlines with every TV appearance, project, or book, whether she wants it to or not.

“With the court of public opinion swinging both ways towards the Sussexes, The Tig could easily ignite more tensions, but it could also go some way to improving her public image.”
