Meghan and Harry security row erupts as public demand ‘arrogant’ Sussexes pay their way

During Channel 5’s Jeremy Vine programme, panellists Dawn Neesom and Edward Adoo clashed with the host regarding the security issues surrounding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently living in Canada but the country has announced they will no longer pay for the security of the couple after March.

Mr Vine said: “Listen if you or I go to an event, we don’t just say call us Jeremy do we?

“I say Jeremy Vine.

“Call me Harry to me sounds a bit royal.

“Where is the surname?”

Ms Neesom replied: “Arrogant.”

Mr Vine said: “I feel sorry for them, it is just hard.”

Ms Neesom asked: “You feel sorry for them?”

Mr Vine said: “I do.”

Ms Neesom said: “Oh Jeremy man up.”

Mr Vine then asked: “Do they go without security?”

Mr Adoo responded: “If they go without security imagine being stopped every minute.”

Last month the former head of royal protection Dai Davies told talkRADIO “freaks of nature” could target Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in Canada.

Mr Davies replied: “Well they do and they still have hard-line nutters, freaks of nature that unfortunately think that blowing people up is the way to get what they want. Unfortunately, that is replicated around the world.

“Canada is a very safe place by everybody’s definition but there are more firearms by head in population there than virtually anywhere.

“These are all issues that somebody has to take on board.

“Unfortunately he is who he is, she is who she is and in my humble opinion they are at risk.”
