Manchester emergency: Two taken to hospital after ‘chemical hazard’ at school sparks panic

Emergency crews attended incident on Old Hall Road at about 1.45pm today. Police confirmed the incident was a ‘chemical hazard’ at a school, without naming which one. Two people were subsequently taken to nearby Wythenshawe Hospital.

Details are yet to emerge about the extent of the injuries which the pair have suffered.

A Greater Manchester Police statement said: “At around 1.45pm today (Thursday 3 December 2020) police were called by the ambulance service to reports of a chemical hazard at a school on Old Hall Road in Sale.

“Emergency services attended.”

A North West Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We attended at the scene.

“We have taken two patients to Wythenshawe Hospital.”
