King Charles’s Coronation could mark a “new chapter” for Prince Harry and Meghan’s relationship with the Royal Family, according to an expert. A representative for the couple confirmed that the couple had been officially invited to the Coronation in May. It is yet to be revealed whether or not Harry and Meghan will attend the event in the UK – with their son Archie’s birthday being held on the same day. But some experts have suggested the event could be a change to rebuild their relationship with members of the family.

The event will take place on May 6 – with both Charles and Camilla, Queen Consort, being crowned.

Eric Schiffer, the chairman of Reputation Management Consultants, said their attendance could mark a “new chapter” for the couple.

“I think this could be an interesting inflection point of healing and resolution of past pain and a new chapter that could work towards building a new relationship between the family,” Schiffer said.

“The coronation highlights someone who has worked to try, despite ‘Spare’ and other background noise, to bring the family together in a careful way.”

The couple’s relationship with the Royal Family has been strained following a number of allegations made since the pair moved to the US to pursue different career paths.

Most recently, Prince Harry’s memoir ‘Spare’ caused controversy after he discussed his early life and disagreements he had with his brother Prince William.

Harry also revealed that he had “begged” his father not to marry Camilla after their affair came to light.

Royal expert Kristen Meinzer told Insider that their attendance at the Coronation would be beneficial in rebuilding relationships.

She said: “I think that if they attended the coronation, it would be a way for them to maybe continue any healing that they’re hoping to have.

“If they choose not to go, I think they know the world will be watching and there’ll be a lot of questions about why they’re not there.

“The main benefit for them is just the optics of looking like they will be continuing to do their best on their end, even if the royal family is not always doing the best on their end for them.”

Harry and Meghan have not been to the UK since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in September, 2022.

Since then, the couple released their documentary with Netflix which delved into their relationship and working life as members of the Firm.

A number of allegations were made – including that they felt forced out by Prince William during a meeting that Meghan was not present for.

It is not yet clear whether or not the couple will make a return for the Coronation in May.
