The Duchess of Cambridge’s brother revealed last month that he had a new addition to his pack. James, 33, who is spending the coronavirus lockdown in Berkshire, already has five dogs – spaniels Ella, Inca, Luna, Zulu and golden retriever Mabel.

His new pup, called Nala, is the daughter of Zulu and the granddaughter of Ella.

Taking to Instagram on Friday, the entrepreneur shared a picture of his six pooches posing together.

He said: “First family photo. It took a while but Nala got the hang of it (see next photo!) but it was a special moment capturing three generations together happy & healthy.”

Along with the photo, James shared a hilarious video of the tiny brown spaniel running around while his other dogs sat for the camera.

The post prompted a string of comments from James’s Instagram followers.

One said: “Oh my goodness. I’m in love.”

Another wrote: “These dogs are so cute I can’t take it.”

A third added: “Such an amazing family photo, Frame it!”

Kate’s brother announced he had a new puppy on Instagram in May as he teased there was more exciting news to come.

James said: “Introducing Nala Middleton. She is daughter of Zulu & granddaughter of Ella.

“I cannot wait to share many adventures with her and the rest of the pack.

“Ps more very exciting news to share soon.”

James’s dogs regularly appear on his Instagram.

And earlier this month he shared a video of himself shaving off his beard to surprise his fiancee Alizee Thevenet to mark the month they were due to marry.

The couple were forced to postpone their big day due to the coronavirus pandemic.

James trimmed and shaved his facial hair in the clip before showing his wife-to-be.

The 33-year-old said: “Seeing as Alizee and myself were due to get married, well actually this month.

“She’s never seen me without a beard. So I thought it was about time I showed her what was behind it.”

In reference to his dogs who were sat with him, James added: “In fact what I’m most worried about is these guys might not recognise me afterwards.”

Kate’s brother has previously opened up about how his pooches helped in his battle with depression.

He is an ambassador for the charity Pets As Therapy and he recently launched his own dog food brand Ella & Co.
