‘He’d be a fool’ – Brexit Party MEP condemns Boris rejection of Farage Election 2019 pact

Mr Farage has consistently offered the Prime Minister the chance to join forces in order to finally deliver Brexit. Recently, Brexit Party chairman, Richard Tice also revealed that some Conservative MPs had expressed their fear that the Brexit Party could split the Leave vote in certain constituencies.

Moreover, Mr Farage today warned the Prime Minister that if he doesn’t accept his proposal, the Brexit Party will put up a tough election fight against the Tories.

Mr Farage added: “We will contest every single seat in England, Scotland and Wales.

“Please don’t doubt that we are ready.

“Do not underestimate our determination or organisation.”

The Brexit Party leader also insisted that despite speculation, his party has 500 candidates ready to challenge in an election.

Adding to his party leader’s comments, Ben Habib attacked the Prime Minister for not appreciating the threat of the Brexit Party in the upcoming election.

Speaking to Express.co.uk on the fringe of the Brexity Party’s campaign launch, Mr Habib said that Mr Johnson “would be a fool not to take that threat seriously”.

Under the pact, it is understood that Mr Farage’s party would stand aside in certain seats.

Instead, the Brexit Party would aggressively target Labour areas.

However, Mr Habib did add that Mr Johnson’s personality is a major stumbling block to any potential deal.

Mr Habib said: “Boris Johnson is two things.

“He’s arrogant and he’s motivated by self-interest.

“And it’s a balance between his self-interest and arrogance that determines whether or not he will accept Nigel Farage’s very generous offer.

“If he were sensible, he would take it.

“Because what we’ve put on the table is a fantastic set of policies and a fantastic approach to Brexit.”

Despite the approaches from the Brexit Party, Leave-supporting Tories have insisted that the party will not be bullied into any agreement with Mr Farage.

Chairman of the European Research Group, Steve Baker said: “I am not more willing to be bullied by Nigel Farage than anyone else into acting against my best understanding of the national interest.

“The reason every Conservative Eurosceptic MP backed the deal is that it can deliver a Brexit worth having.”

Moreover, Try MP, Mark Fancois also said: “I voted for Boris’s deal and I’m sticking with it because it takes us out of the EU.”

Away from tempting the Tories into an election pact, the Brexit Party leader also declared that his party could have a serious impact on the Labour party.

Referencing his time as the leader of Ukip, Mr Farage said: “The absolute truth of it is that it was, in fact, the Ukip vote that disproportionately hurt the Labour party in the 2015 general election.

“And, actually, there wouldn’t have been a Conservative majority if it hadn’t been for the effects of the Ukip vote.

“So this continued lazy thinking, that somehow Brexit voters are all Conservatives, is nonsense.”
