Election 2019: Ben Habib reveals only thing stopping Leave alliance pact in bold attack

The Brexit Party officially launched their campaign on Friday as Mr Farage called on Boris Johnson to form a pact with his party. Speaking on Friday afternoon, Mr Farage claimed that a deal between his party and the Tories could “win a big majority in Parliament and could deliver a genuine Brexit”.

However, despite repeated offers to Mr Johnson, the Prime Minister has as of yet declined the opportunity to join forces.

Moreover, European Research Group chairman, Steve Baker rejected any form of a pre-Brexit pact with Mr Farage’s party.

With the Tories yet to respond to the Brexit Party’s approach, MEP, Ben Habib revealed the only factor stopping the deal.

Speaking to Express.co.uk at the party’s campaign launch, Mr Habib revealed that Mr Johnson’s personality is the one stumbling block to the deal.

Mr Habib said: “Boris Johnson is two things.

“He’s arrogant and he’s motivated by self-interest.

“And it’s a balance between his self-interest and arrogance that determines whether or not he will accept Nigel Farage’s very generous offer.

“If he were sensible, he would take it.

“Because what we’ve put on the table is a fantastic set of policies and a fantastic approach to Brexit.”

However, in a warning to the Prime Minister, Mr Farage also insisted that his party is ready to fight a tough campaign.

The Brexit Party leader insisted that he has 500 candidates that he could field against the Tories in every seat in the country.

With the Party’s list of candidates set to be announced on Monday, Mr Farage said that his party would be the only one to stand for Brexit.

He added: “The Brexit Party would be the only party standing at these elections that actually represents Brexit.”

Yesterday, in an interview with Mr Farge, Donald Trump urged the Prime Minister to form an alliance with the Brexit Party leader.

Speaking on Mr Farage’s LBC radio programme, Trump stated that the combination of the two would form an “unstoppable force”.

Trump said: “I have great relationships with many of the leaders, including Boris.

“He is a fantastic man and I think he is the exact right guy for the times and I know that you and him will end up doing something that could be terrific.

“If you and he get together, you know, you’d be an unstoppable force and Corbyn would be so bad for your country.”

The US President continued his attack on the leader of the Opposition as he insisted that Mr Corbyn would take the country in the wrong direction.

“He would be so bad.

“He would take you in such a bad way.

“He would take you into such bad places.”
