Kieron, 37, said: “Every year I build on the last. It just gets bigger and bigger.”

He starts making new props in the summer – with help from partner Becky Cross, and children, Scarlett, three, and Charlie, four. The idea to raise cash for charity came when people offered money to look at the display in Gillingham, Kent.

Last year they raised £2,700 in three days for the local Demelza hospice for children.

They are now determined to do even better. Kieron said yesterday: “We’ve raised about £600 in less than 24 hours – and still have the weekend to go.”
