Woman, 44, who shouted ‘I’m pregnant’ before being shot dead by police pictured

This is the first picture of a woman who shouted 'I'm pregnant' before being shot dead by police.

The woman has been identified as 44-year-old Pamela Turner by family members.

Turner is a mother of two – both in their 20s – and a grandmother of three, according to reports.

But police said she was not pregnant at the time of the shooting, ABC reports.

An officer on patrol in the area in Baytown, Texas, had seen her and recognised her from 'prior dealings,' reports said.

The officer knew there were warrants out to arrest her – and court records showed she had two outstanding warrants for criminal mischief and one for assault resulting in bodily injury, according to reports.

When the police officer tried to arrest Turner on Monday night, she allegedly resisted which forced the officer to use a Taser, reports said.

A video of the altercation between Turner – said to have been unarmed – and police has been shared widely online.

In the video, the woman can be heard saying that she is pregnant moments before being shot.

Family members speaking to Click 2 Houston were unable to confirm she was pregnant and an autopsy is yet to be carried out.

Turner was on medication for schizophrenia, according to her sister Antoinette.

Antoinette revealed Turner was a mum of two children, and three grandchildren.

Reports said during the struggle, the woman was able to get the officer's Taser and Tasered him, which led to him using his duty weapon and firing several rounds at her.

Lisa Carr, who lives nearby and witnessed the incident, said: "He shot her, (standing) over her, five times – bam, bam, bam, bam, bam.

"She said, 'Get off of me. I’m pregnant,' and (then) he turned around and stung her.

"She took (the Taser) from him and shot him. And that’s when you turn around and he say, bam, bam, bam, and just shot her like that."

In the video, posted to Facebook and Twitter by multiple users, the woman can be heard telling the officer she is walking to her house.

The officer who shot her appears to be the only officer at the scene during the incident.

The woman can be seen walking as she tells the officer he is “harassing” her.

The pop of a stun gun can be heard as the officer appears to fire his Taser at the woman. It is not clear if the stun gun hit her.

The woman can then be seen on the ground with the officer on top of her, trying to grab her hands.

She yells, “I’m pregnant,” and the officer steps away from her as she appears to be moving her hands near his legs.

As she sits up, the officer fires his gun five times and the woman falls back to the ground.

It is not clear how many times she was shot.

An investigation is underway and reports suggest the officer has been placed on administrative leave.
