Today marks the end of Donald Trump’s reign as President of the United States of America and the beginning of Joe Biden’s term in office.

Later today, Biden will officially be sworn in as the 46th president where both Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez will perform at his inauguration.

Donald Trump has previously announced that he will not be attending Biden’s inauguration.

While all eyes will be on Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris today, some will be wondering exactly what Trump will be up to.

Where will Donald Trump be during Joe Biden’s inauguration?

Trump has made it clear he will not be attending Biden’s inauguration making him the first president since 1869 to steer clear of his successor’s scheduled initiation.

Reports suggest Trump is planning an early morning sendoff event for himself at a military airfield in Maryland on Wednesday, several hours before Biden takes centre stage.

While details of the event remain unknown, invitations have been issued from the White House for an event taking place at Joint Base Andrews at 8am ET (1pm GMT) on Wednesday – four hours before Biden will take his oath.

Trump and his wife Melania are then set to board Air Force One for the last time and fly to his private Mar-a-Lago resort and residence in Palm Beach, Florida.

Vice-President Mike Pence will be attending Biden’s inauguration, but it is not yet known if he will attend Trump’s farewell at either the White House or Joint Base Andrews beforehand.

Trump left the White House for the last time just after 8am local time (1pm GMT) today, January 20.

Then, 90 White House had to deep-clean the property for five hours before Biden and his family could move in.

Staff quickly boxed-up anything left behind by the Trumps, before the Biden family’s belongings began arriving.
