Sandy Hook conspiracy theorist ordered to pay dad £343k for claiming he faked son’s death and shooting didn’t happen – The Sun

A TWISTED conspiracy theorist has been ordered to pay a grieving dad £343k for claiming he faked his son's death in the Sandy Hook shooting.

Warped James Fetzer was forced to cough up the massive sum to Leonard Pozner – whose son Noah, six, was the youngest victim of the December 2012 mass shooting.

Fetzer bizarrely claimed the massacre in Newtown, Connecticut, was staged by the US government as part of a plot to pass stricter gun laws.

He claimed Noah's death certificate was fake and accused Pozner of faking the death.

The claims were made in Nobody Died at Sandy Hook, a book he co-wrote with Mike Palacek.

Palakek has reached an undisclosed settlement with the Pozner family.

TOLD GRIEVING DAD HE WAS A LIAR

Noah died when mentally- disturbed Adam Lanza, 20, massacred 20 kids at Sandy Hook elementary school.

He also killed six adult staff members, shot himself dead as cops flooded the school.

Earlier he had shot and killed his mum, increasing the death toll to a horrific 27.

The brutal attack led to nationwide mourning and increased calls for tougher gun control.

Speaking after the lump sum was awarded, Pozner thanked the jury"for recognizing the pain and terror that Mr Fetzer has purposefully inflicted on me and on other victims of these horrific mass casualty events, like the Sandy Hook shooting."

He added: "Mr Fetzer has the right to believe that Sandy Hook never happened. He has the right to express his ignorance.

"This award, however, further illustrates the difference between the right of people like Mr. Fetzer to be wrong and the right of victims like myself and my child to be free from defamation, free from harassment and free from the intentional infliction of terror."
