Punters dared to finish ‘mission impossible’ bowl of nachos weighing one stone

A Brit restaurant is daring punters to have a go at finishing off "the world's biggest plate of nachos".

The mountain of Mexican food is served up in a super-sized bowl that weighs over a stone – and so far no one has had the stomach for it.

Made up of 1kg of tortilla crisps, 3kg of brisket beef, 1kg of cheddar cheese, 500g of sour cream, salsa and guacamole the feast contains a whopping week's worth of calories.

Restaurant bosses have promised that anyone able to polish off the £40 feast in under 60 minutes won't get charged for and will bag a free dessert.

But the huge meal has already claimed a number of victims.

Lily Cuthberton, 22, from Northampton, was completely stuffed after managing to get through just a quarter of the feast.

She said: "I knew it was big but I didn't think it would be that big – I instantly knew it was going to be mission impossible, but I love nachos so gave it a go.

"After 35 minutes I had to stop because I was stuffed, my stomach couldn't handle anymore, and the dish of nachos were never-ending.

"I didn't even want to look at the dish after I had finished and the thought of eating again knocked me sick.

"The night before the challenge I tried to prepare myself by stuffing my face with about ten crackers with cheese in a bid to stretch my stomach. "It clearly didn't work as I barely made a dent in the nachos.

"I love nachos, but I don't think I will be able to eat them for a while now."

Lily added: "I was shocked when I found out how many calories it is, that is enough to put me off trying it again.

"I would advise for anyone who is thinking about taking on the challenge to avoid eating for three weeks prior, so you are hungry enough to clean the plate!"
