Body of boy, 10, found in a caravan in Birmingham as cops launch investigation

THE body of a 10-year-old boy was found inside a caravan parked beside a property in Birmingham this morning.

The discovery was made in Blossomville Way in the Acocks Green area at 7.30am.



A resident who did not want to be named said "I saw police and ambulance at the house going in the caravan on the driveway and someone said a young boy was found dead inside."

The witness continued; "From what I know, the parents weren't at home and only arrived about lunch time and were met by the police at the property."

The boy was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead shorty after arrival.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "Police and ambulance were called to an address in Blossomville Way, Acocks Green at around 7.30am this morning following reports that a child had been found unconscious at the address.

"The 10-year-old boy was taken to hospital where he was sadly pronounced dead.

"The death is currently being treated as unexplained and a post-mortem will take place in due course.

"Police inquiries are ongoing."
