Sarah Ferguson reveals her hopes to be a grandmother as all eyes on Princess Eugenie

Sarah, also known as Fergie, revealed she is so into being healthy she could be “accused of being a hypochondriac”. And she said one of the main reasons is her desire to see her daughters, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, becoming mums and make her a grandmother. Speaking at the launch of Bias and Biology, a British Heart Foundation campaign raising awareness of the inequalities in diagnosis of women and heart disease, Fergie said: “I want to be granny.

“I don’t want to not take this seriously.

“It’s not a joke, it’s only one life.”

And urging other women to have their hearts checked, she said: “If you want to see your children’s children and be a granny, go get checked.”

This remark has put Princess Eugenie under the spotlight once again, with many royal watchers constantly trying to spot clues signalling she is pregnant with her first child.

In May Eugenie was spotted leaving a fancy restaurant in London’s Mayfair, George, and her dress’ pattern triggered speculation the princess may be expecting, just seven months after getting married to her beau Jack at Windsor’s St George’s Chapel.

The Duchess of York has also revealed she believes she and her ex husband Prince Andrew have been good role models for their daughters.

The Duke and Sarah divorced in 1996, four years after the Duchess had been spotted having her toe sucked by tycoon John Bryan during a holiday in St Tropez.

But they have kept their family united despite the collapse of their marriage, and have continued living together at the Royal Lodge for the past two decades.

Sarah has often spoken about her former husband as her soulmate and described her relationship with Prince Andrew as more than friendship, fuelling speculation the couple have got back together after years of separation.

She told Hello! Magazine: “We work in unity and Andrew and I are focused on being good parents together. We are bigger than friends.

“We learn from each other, support each other and understand it’s about communication, compromise and compassion.”

In April, the Yorks were described as “friends with benefits”.

Speaking on ITV’s Lorraine, journalist Dan Wootton said: “They are at the moment in a relationship described as ‘friends with benefits’.

“They’re not seeing anyone else.”

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams explained how the couple would even be able to remarry without the need of receiving the approval from the Queen or Prince Philip.

He told Express.co.uk: “The Yorks are a close-knit family. Despite divorcing in 1996, Andrew and Sarah still are the best of the friends

“The Queen would not have to give her consent and Prince Philip, who detests her, has retired.”

However, heir to the throne Prince Charles would likely speak against the union.
