Nigel Farage CHALLENGES Jeremy Corbyn to a debate on Brexit – ‘People are confused!’

Nigel Farage confidently issued a challenge to Jeremy Corbyn to have a Brexit debate before the European elections on May 23 as he deemed their Brexit  stance “confusing.” While speaking to Sky News’ Sophy Ridge, the Brexit Party leader emphasised the importance for the party to win over Brexiteer Labour supporters in the upcoming election. The Sky News host also reflected on the latest YouGov European election poll which puts the Brexit party ahead of both the Labour and Conservative party and asked how Mr Farage felt regarding the early success.

Mr Farage began by saying: “Well I think we have clearly done very well as a new party, we have done well with the UKIP vote that has almost disappeared, we have done well with the Conservative vote.

“I think the significance of Thursday night is that we saw the first cracks in the Labour vote.

“The Labour parliamentary party are very Remain, lots of them pushing for a second referendum to Remain.

“But there are five million voters out there, Labour voters that voted Leave particularly in the Midlands and South Wales.

“I’d love between now and polling day to have a debate with Jeremy Corbyn about this.

“People are very confused as to what Labour is standing for and if you want, it is a challenge.

“I think if we can dig into the Labour vote we can surprise even ourselves on how well we do on May 23.”

According to the YouGov poll on 29th to 30th April 2019  of 1,630 people, the Brexit party would accumulate 30 percent of the votes for the European elections.

Labour follows most closely behind at 21 percent, and the Conservatives sitting significantly lower at 13 percent.

The local election results have also revealed that many Leave voters across the country have opted to show their disdain for the two major parties by spoiling their ballot or voting for other parties.

Mr Farage has also suggested that this feeling of “betrayal” will spill into the European elections and ensure more success for the newly formed Brexit party.
