Kate in stitches after Prince George teased by Bear Grylls – ‘First ant!’

Prince George, the third-in-line to the throne, seems keen on following in the adventure-filled path of Mr Grylls, the TV presenter and survivalist. Mr Grylls was one of the celebrities taking part on Thursday in the charity regatta organised by Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince William. Among the spectators watching eight boats competing in The King’s Cup there were George, six, and Princess Charlotte, four.

And Prince George was spotted by Mr Grylls, the winner of the race, eating something quite unconventional.

As he was holding onto the trophy, Mr Grylls joked with the crowd and the royals, suggesting the little prince may be interested in becoming his successor.

He said: “And also Prince George, your first ant you ate today.

“And that is a great moment. Well done, you.”

The survivalist’s revelation left Kate and William, who were listening to Mr Grylls’s speech from the side of the stage, in stitches.

Prince George didn’t attract the attention of royal fans just for his hilarious behaviour.

The six-year-old, who was wearing a nautical striped shirt and a captain hat, was also spotted grinning as he was on a boat with her sister and their grandparents, Carole and Michael Middleton, to watch the race.

George’s big smile helped royal fans notice the little royal’s two front teeth have fallen out.

But Prince George’s antics didn’t steal Princess Charlotte’s spotlight, who once again hit the front page by sticking out her tongue to the crowd.

Little Charlotte may have taken this cheeky habit after her uncle Prince Harry, who has been spotted countless time as a child sticking out his tongue to the crowd and photographers – even at official events such as Trooping the Colour.

Prince Louis was also in Cowes for the big event, but it is impossible to know whether he stayed out of trouble.

The one-year-old, who has so far attended only one official event, Trooping the Colour, remained out of sight, possibly in the care of the Cambridges’ nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo.

The King’s Cup was a sailing regatta organised by Kensington Palace to raise awareness and funds for eight organisations supported by the Cambridges.

The six celebrities attending and Kate and William raced as a skipper representing one charity each.

Mr Grylls represented Tusk, an organisation in favour of wildlife conservation across the African continent.

On the other hand, William represented Child Bereavement UK and Kate The Royal Foundation’s Early Years programme.

While neither of the royals won, Prince William could get back at his wife after loosing against her at another sailing race in Auckland in 2014, during their tour Down Under.

Kate received the wooden spoon as she was disqualified on the second race and arrived last.

The successful event helped raise £1million for the eight charities represented in the race.

And Kate and William would like it to become an yearly event, as they stated on Instagram.

On their account, kensingtonroyal, they wrote: “Their Royal Highnesses hope that The King’s Cup will become an annual event, bringing greater awareness to the wider benefits of sport, whist also raising support and funds for the causes that The Duke and Duchess support.”
